The Best Hawaii Luaus

A Luau is a Hawaiian feast which is much like a party. In Hawaii the term Luau and party are almost synonymous with Luau being the means by which weddings and birthdays are celebrated. Music, Hula and beer among other Hawaiian traditions are often undertaken at a Luau making it a favorite among tourists looking to sample a piece of Hawaiian culture on their visit.
Oahu Luaus – While most visitors go to Waikiki on vacation, most of the best Luaus occur far away from there. Germaine's Luau in Kapolei is one of the best Luaus, which has large numbers of guests and even more impressive entertainment and food. Traveling there is usually very easy from tourist resorts because they arrange transport from almost anywhere in Hawaii where tourists can be found. Paradise Cove Luau which is in the Ko Olina Resort is another one of the best places to experience your first Luau. Many natives attend too, so it is a great way to get a glimpse into their culture and why the enjoy Luaus so much.
Kauai Luaus – The Kauai Coconut Beach Hotel holds a nightly event in Kapaa which is a small town on the island. This has often been called the most authentic of all Luaus in Hawaii and with good reason. If you want to go to a Luau in Hawaii then visiting this one could be great. It goes on every night too which means you have no excuse for not attending. Smith's Tropical Paradise Luau is the favorite among the locals on the Island. It is located in a tropical garden which has lagoons which have live fish in them, which you will then go on to eat later on the evening.
Maui Luaus – The Drums of the Pacific Luau has to be the best on the island of Maui for many reasons. You will get to experience the Hula, but not only that – they will teach you it too, so you do not have to worry about having never done it before. The natives will also dance and sing telling you the tale of their culture and how the first Hawaiians made it to the disparate island. The Royal Lahaina Luau is also very popular because they give a buffet style menu, meaning that if you are worried about whether or not you will enjoy the food you can eat what you want and leave what you do not!
Big Island Luaus - Although for its position you might suggest parties galore, Big Island Luaus are few and far between. The Kona Village Resort's Luau has to be the most notable on the Island, and has often been considered to be the best by tourists, if not be the islanders. The thing that makes this so special is that it is the only Luau held on the beach in Hawaii, making it romantic for couples and enjoyable for everyone else as they watch the moonlight reflect off the calm night’s sea.
