A Trip Down South

For the long weekend I drove out to the forgotten coast in Florida to see my brother Bill. They call it the forgotten coast because the layout of the town has stayed the same for years. No major development, no new advances, just good old fashioned fishing towns. A lot of the local restaurants are mom and pop developments and seafood restaurants and the general stores are really simple and meet the needs of the minimally populated towns. Usually bait is a hot item.
When I rolled into town, I first went into my rental condo to freshen up. It made me laugh to see that the place was furnished with a VCR player. This really is the place that time forgot. I changed into a sturdy pair of jeans, an old t-shirt and put in my new hearing aids from Miracle-Ear.com. I then rolled down towards the bay to see my brother and his wife Fiona. Bill and Fiona are doing great, and it’s always good to see that first hand. In the next couples days we plan to do a little fishing and take the boat on the water. My stay is going to be great.
