Whenever we travel, our travel agency requires us to pay a travel insurance as they say this will protect us and our loved ones if ever any untoward incident may happen during our travel. Some of us comply with it while others want it to be optional most especially if we travel for only a few days. However, is travel insurance really important? What are the advantages of getting one? Below are some reasons why we need to purchase a travel insurance.
If an untoward incident happens during our travel and we need to get emergency medical treatment, the insurer would cover the cost of our treatment which is either for us to be treated at a hospital or as an outpatient case. The amount that the insurance will cover is usually stated in the policy so it is best to read and familiarize first the policy before purchasing the insurance.
After the treatment, some insurance policies cover the cost of returning us to our home country. Sometimes, there can be an accompanying medical professional if needed. In case of death, the return of the remains of the person is covered also.
A travel insurance would be a big help for unexpected accidents or problems during our travel. We wish to have a safe travel all the time but we don't know when accidents may happen, worse is when it may lead to our death or the death of a loved one. Travel insurance would save us from a lot of headache and unexpected expenses.
The insurance will help us also if in case we accidentally injure someone or their property during the trip. If the untoward incident would result to dismemberment of some parts of our body, temporary or permanent disability, a travel insurance will give us an amount of money to help our condition. Different policies and amounts of coverage would provide different benefits.
These and many more are the advantages of getting a travel insurance when we go abroad. However, the decision will always be upon you. Most travel agencies though require a compulsory travel insurance from all their clients. Remember also that it is always best to be ready while it is early than to be sorry later.
