Es Cubells Ibiza - A Brief Guide

March 8th 2011 12:50
Ibiza is one of the Mediterranean’s most visited islands. Set in the Balearic Islands, Ibiza is visited by hundreds of thousands of people each year just looking to top up that summer tan or hit one of the many world class nightclubs.

With around 300 days of hot summer sunshine and warm milder winters, Ibiza is the perfect summer holiday destination or place to purchase a property as a holiday home.

There are many wonderful towns that dot the island which are worthy of mentioning but a great choice is Es Cubells.

Es Cubells is just a short drive from Ibiza’s main airport and is situated to the south west of the island. Here you will find a quieter part of the island which is a million miles away in character from the lively nightclub towns of San Antonio and Ibiza Town.

Es Cubells is very beautiful and scenic with 3 main beaches that are surrounded by fantastic mountains. The beaches are mainly pebble beaches so do not expect the normal Ibizan soft golden sand here unlike the rest of the island.

The town is also home to some really extravagant and expensive villas for sale in Es Cubells and a number of stars and celebrities are rumoured to own property here including Mike Oldfield and the band Oasis.

Due to its lack of public access, you are highly advised to get yourself a car or moped otherwise you will find that much of the area will be inaccessible to you.

The town is also very well known for its lovely little church which is perched high up on the cliff top overlooking the gorgeous blue sea and the neighbouring island of Formentera.

If you are lost for something to do while staying in the area, you can always pop along to the town of San José (Sant Josep) which has a bit more to offer in terms of shops, bars and restaurants.
