Every year, I see to it to visit my parents in the country once or twice a year. I know that visiting them would bring them so much joy and the memories that we build with them are priceless. Our parents long for our presence all the time. It pains them that their once little kids are now all grown up and live their own lives away from them. A visit once or twice would be a great gift to them.
I already live now in the city and I love it here. However, there are things in country living that I know city life cannot give. Aside from spending precious time with my parents, country life is almost perfect and so relaxing. We don't need to rush all the time. We can go to place in shorter time, without traffic and at the same time, we can enjoy the sites around us. The magnificent view of the mountains, the chirping of the birds that seems music to our ears, the fresh breeze that we can feel and the fresh air that gives us life. Country living is really awesome.
The cost of living is also a lot lesser than city living. We can always plant trees, fruits and vegetables in our front or backyard like tomatoes, bell pepper, ginger and so many more. We can always use them for our own consumption or sell these fruits and vegetables when they are ready to harvest already.
There are times I also love going around the country. The site of fresh coconuts, other trees, bamboos that seem kissing the soil when they bend and their whispers in the air are just amazing. The panoramic view of the mountain is a beauty to behold. Waterfalls big or small can also be found in the country.
Country life may not be as luxurious as the life that we can have in the city, however, there are more things that country life can give us than just material things. The memories that we build every time we stand in the rice field or the farm ... with strawberries or pineapples all over where our loved ones are looking at us with so much love ... are treasures that no money could ever replace.
So, are you planning for that next bonding time or vacation with the family? Try visiting the countryside. Surely, the whole family will have a different and extraordinary experience.
